Hello, world! Welcome to Ascending Node. As it says in the header graphic, “ascending node” is an astronomy term meaning “the point in the orbit of an object when it crosses the ecliptic whilst moving south to north”. I picked this as the title of my blog mainly because it has a nice ring to it: it flows nicely from the tongue and implies someone who is coming up in the world. I also chose it because I am interested in becoming a Physicist when I grow up.

I’m 23, a woman, a feminist, and determined to ascend in this world.
